Today marks the day Sid Haig joins the cast and crew of Lightning Strikes Productions’ new film, Dark Moon Rising. Currently shooting in Nevada, Dark Moon Rising is slated to be in principal photography into the month of June.
Joining the likes of Maria Conchita Alonso (The Running Man, "Saints and Sinners"), Chris Mulkey (The Hidden, Cloverfield) and Billy Drago (The Untouchables, “Masters of Horror: Imprint“), Sid is thrilled to be a part of this unique film.
“I'm really anxious to get started on this film, for a lot of reasons. There are some people in the cast that I have always wanted to work with. The story is solid, smart, passionate and cleverly constructed. And for once, I'm on the receiving end of the mayhem, which gives me an opportunity to stretch my legs in a new direction”, Haig says.
Written and directed by Dana Mennie, Dark Moon Rising tells the story of Amy, a small-town girl whose life is redefined when she falls in love with Dan, a mysterious drifter who brings with him a family curse and unimaginable horror. Bender, also known as Darkman, who shares this curse with Dan - his son - brings hell to Amy’s town. Several of the locals get involved. Sunny - the local tarot card reader, gives confirmation of the curse to Dan and Amy. Crazy Louis, a farmer whose beloved dog Norman is killed, tries to intervene by rounding up a posse of his own. As Amy and Dan’s love is put to the test, Thibodeaux - an ex-cop from another city who has witnessed Darkman’s lust for blood firsthand, Sam - the local sheriff and a former homicide detective and John - Amy’s father, head for the ultimate showdown with Darkman and the evil he has drawn them all into.
Dark Moon Rising is an experience in horror that will keep the viewer guessing right up until the final frame.

| Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer's vampire hunter film, The Brotherhood of Blood, starring Sid Haig, Ken Foree and Victoria Pratt, has secured distribution with Sam Raimi's Ghosthouse Underground. The fledgling home video label, a division of Raimi's Ghost House Pictures, will kick off this fall with a line-up of horror films sure to please! Some more details HERE and HERE. Dr. Lloyd Hill and his lovely wife Roberta ride the Slingshot at King's Island in this wonderful video. Doctor and Mrs. Hill were tragically lost in a car accident not very long ago.
Doc, himself a clown in the Peru Amatuer Circus as the character "Doctor (Doc) Sprock" appears with Sid as "The Mad Maestro" in the forthcoming film Little Big Top.
He was always a genuine pleasure to be around. Always ready with a smile and a joke and could brighten up a room just by walking into it. This certainly looks like how Doc and Roberta would like to be remembered - brave, sassy and full of life and the love of it all.
One day, when Little Big Top is released, all can enjoy Doc's wonderful vim and vigor, and his energetic performance throughout the film.

Well, that maniacal clown is back - this time in animated form - to tickle your funnies and grab your honeys! That’s right, Sid Haig will once again don his killer clown persona, Captain Spaulding, to team up with Rob Zombie and the gang for “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto”. And he can’t wait to join in for more fun…
“It’s good to be able to work with Rob and company again on a film that we all know will stampede through theatres like his past work. It’s always exciting to work with people who are not only friends, but extremely talented and hard workers as well, because I know that while I’m working my happy ass off, they are doing the same.”
